Trauma Therapy
The Richards Trauma
Process (TRTP™)
We all have emotional baggage. Some events are outside our awareness, some are distressing events in childhood that we’ve rationalised, but not resolved. Baggage can be hard to let go off, even when we want to. If you have experienced:
- Embarrasment as a child or experienced bullying
- Verbal or emotional abuse
- Critical parents, teachers, coaching or people in authority
- Distressful events – particulary in childhood
- Traumatic events.
TRTP™ is an elegantly simple, yet comprehensive, step-by-step process which resolves extreme trauma and trauma-related issues – anxiety, depression, fears and phobias. It achieves results quickly, effectively and safely – generally in 3 sessions. It does not require a “re-telling” of the traumatic event.
The Richards process pinpoints the issues over three sessions
- First Session - We re-connect to your core self, and release unlimiting beliefs
- Second Session - We close the door on old patterns of behaviour, releasing past experiences and leaving them in the past
- Third Session - We orientate you to a brighter future
TRTP™ is in alignment with the two requirements stated by Van der Kolk, Levine and other trauma experts. For trauma to be resolved;
- The person must (somehow) be moved to an empowered position in regard to the trauma
- The body must (somehow) know that the event / events are over
TRTP™ quickly moves the client from their state of fight, flight, freeze – ‘I’m not safe!’ To, ‘It’s over. I’m safe now…’ Calm returns, on all levels. Symptoms cease.
